Hundreds of logistics jobs are predicted to be created in the Midlands after the green light was given to the construction of 1.4m sq ft of warehousing across four units in Magna Park Lutterworth.
Real estate builder GLP said the significant development reflected the sustained expansion and success of Europe’s largest logistics park.
The four new warehouses, 388,000sq ft, 119,000sq ft, 136,000sq ft and 761,000sq ft are all due for completion by the end of Spring 2024.
The latter shed will be a Breeam Outstanding rated building with the other three planned to achieve Breeam Excellent status.
GLP said it would also build a 200-acre country park enhancing the park’s facilities and providing recreation areas for customers and the wider community.
Joe Garwood, senior development director at GLP, said: “This is a testament to our confidence in the resilience of the UK logistics market and the strategic importance of the Midlands in particular.
“We have seen huge success with our speculative development programme at Lutterworth to date, attracting a wide range of top-tier customers, and we’re confident that we will see strong demand for this new space.”
