The RHA is calling for the haulage industry to get behind its latest National Lorry Week, which will be celebrating its 10th year next month.
The RHA’s annual National Lorry Week was launched in 2014 to raise the sector’s profile, showcasing the vital role the trucks, drivers and the industry play in the nation’s social and economic wellbeing.
The theme for this year’s National Lorry Week, which takes place between 4 and 8 November, is skills and careers.
Ahead of the week the RHA will take to the road with its branded National Lorry Week truck from 21 October, taking in venues across the four UK nations including members’ sites, sponsors’ premises and colleges.
The association is also taking out its state-of-the-art driving simulator to show would-be drivers what it’s like to get behind the wheel of an HGV.
Richard Smith, RHA MD, said: “We’re very proud to hold our 10th National Lorry Week campaign where we’ll once again celebrate our industry and its people, and the critical role they play in driving the economy.
“We are highlighting the wealth of rewarding career paths open to young people and others looking for fresh challenges – and we’ll be driving the message that our industry is an aspirational career choice.
“The influence our sector has on the economy is significant, so I’d urge everyone to get involved and get behind the National Lorry Week campaign as we showcase the crucial role our industry plays in society.”
