The launch, hosted by Stroud-based haulier Howard Tenens, promoted haulage as an industry rich with opportunity for people looking for careers.
Today’s event marks the final week of a three week roadshow which has seen the official National Lorry Week 2024 truck travel around the UK, visiting members, industry partners and colleges to emphasise the significance of the industry and the highlight the people keeping supply chains moving across the UK.
The association also took its state-of-the-art driving simulator along to show would-be drivers what it’s like to get behind the wheel of an HGV.
This is the tenth RHA National Lorry Week since its launch in 2014.
Speaking at today’s event policy lead Sally Gilson outlined how logistics careers are vital to the UK and how supporting upskilling and training can bring a wealth of benefits.
Jayson Churn, CWD logistics director and chair of the RHA Next Gen Group outlined how, with support from industry and government, the sector can be full of opportunity for young people like himself.
