General Motors has extended its long-standing relationship with XPO Logistics with a three year renewal of its Vauxhall contract.
The deal sees XPO make out-of-hours deliveries every night to more than 300 Vauxhall outlets across the UK.
XPO collects cargo from the manufacturer’s national parts DC in Chalton, Bedfordshire before delivering them straight to retailers, meaning orders placed before 4pm are delivered by 8am the next morning.
The former Norbert Dentressangle also manages returns for Vauxhall, and any waste that the operation incurs.
The haulier has recently bought deck loading scissor lifts for the Chalton DC, which enable the loading of double-deck trailers.
Peter Durham, warehouse operations manager at Vauxhall Motors, said: “XPO Logistics has continued to deliver consistently high levels of service and provides a flexible service that allows us to offer our dealer network a highly effective just-in-time parts distribution solution.”
