Cardiff-based international freight forwarding firm FSEW has launched a freight decarbonisation solution to help clients cut their Scope 3 emissions.
FSEW Greenflow is designed to help clients reduce their carbon footprint in sea, air, road, and rail freight and achieve their corporate sustainability goals.
It delivers measurable carbon savings and uses transparent reporting with detailed and actionable emission reports.
Geoff Tomlinson, FSEW MD, said: “FSEW GreenFlow isn’t just about moving goods, it’s about redefining how your business contributes to a sustainable future.
“Using data and insights we can demonstrate how businesses can reduce Scope 3 emissions, forming a critical part of their sustainability strategy.
“This is a game changer for the industry because we’re the first general freight forwarding provider to offer this.“
He added: “The freight sector is evolving, so it’s important our business doesn’t just keep pace. We’ve reached a critical turning point, and this is the result of detailed work with our partners Egnida.
“Together we’re reshaping customer behaviour, collaborating with our peers, and establishing supply-chain emission transparency, while responding to market demands and maintain best in class service.
“The changes we are making are a strategic shift to deliver efficient, greener freight solutions and lower carbon emissions for both FSEW and our customers.”
Based at Freightliner in Wentloog, Cardiff, FSEW currently employs 90 people and provides freight transport services to clients in the UK, Europe and around the world.
The launch of FSEW Greenflow follows the firm’s achievement, at the end of last year, to become diesel free.
This has seen the company cut 2.4 million diesel kilometres and reduce its CO² emissions by 2,400 tonnes, by transitioning to a fleet of Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (ULEVs).
The move saw FSEW take delivery of four new 37 tonne electric trucks from Volvo Trucks UK last year, with the order placed with Wales & West Truck & Bus, boosting the operator’s fleet of fully electric trucks to five. The rest of the fleet consists of 35 CNG fuelled trucks.
A further order has been placed with Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK for the delivery of five eActros 600 tractor units due for delivery from May 2025.
FSEW, which launched the UK’s first commercial use electric HGVs in partnership with Tesco in 2021, aims to achieve net zero operations by 2030.
To reflect its focus on accelerating freight decarbonisation the company has also updated its branding and website.
Planning permission has also been granted for a Low Carbon Freight Hub in Cardiff, which will become the UK’s first low carbon freight hub, powered entirely by renewable energy sources.
