Eddie Stobart Logistics will replace XPO Logistics as the logistics partner for Aggregate Industries' Concrete Products division.
The five year contract, commencing October 2016, will see Stobart move finished products from Bradstone, Charcon and Masterblock from 14 sites across the UK.
Stobart said it will use a combination of curtain sided and flat bed trailers a well as automated offload vehicles for the work.
Motortransport.co.uk understands XPO had held the contract since 2008.
Eddie Stobart Logistics CEO Alex Laffey said that Stobart’s multimodal offering means the haulier could offer a “broader” range of services to the operation.

“Our multimodal offering also presents a much broader opportunity for Eddie Stobart to support Aggregate Industries’ efforts in reducing the amount of product moved by road, and helping further our commitment to sector-leading sustainability.”

XPO Logistics had not responded to requests for comment at the time of publishing.
