Culina Logistics has won a contract with cheese specialists Dairy Partners to store, pick and distribute its retail product range using its shared user model.
The contract is managed from Culina’s Stafford depot and relies on its 10 depots across the UK and Ireland in order to maximise vehicle fill and supply chain efficiency.
Dairy Partners says it awarded the distribution deal following a trial, adding that it switched suppliers after Culina demonstrated it could operate “an economical, flexible and scaleable solution.”
A Culina spokesman says: “The shared user model is highly flexible to match the operation to what the customer requires. It is designed to support multi customers in the same vehicle, and even the same pallet sometimes; the point being that you use the space inside the vehicle very well.”
Dairy Partners is one of the largest suppliers of grated cheese in the UK and it also markets a range of retail dairy products including the peelable cheese brand.
The duration and value of the contract were not disclosed.
