A short update on the fate of South West Delivery Services, which it was revealed owed more than £1m to creditors when in was placed into liquidation in June.
Liquidator Simon Lowes of Ashtons JWD told The Hub that a successful acquisition of some of the defunct operator's vehicles had now been conducted.
However, a debt of £70,000 owed to it would likely not be repayed now after the debtor went out of business itself [that surely underlines just how hard things remain out day-to-day despite talk of an economic recovery taking hold in the UK].
Lowes confirmed that creditors certainly shouldn't expect to receive payment in full (which will come as little surprise to them one suspects), as there's likely to be quite a shortfall although the liquidation process has some way to run yet.
The business of South West Delivery Services was ultimately acquired by Kay Transport.
