Asset Alliance supplies five DAF XF trucks to Eden Farm Hulleys

Ice cream and frozen food specialist Eden Farm Hulleys has taken delivery of five New Generation DAF XF 480 tractor units and one Chereau refrigerated semi-trailer from Asset Alliance Group.

Supplied on a three-year contract hire deal, the DAF trucks will join the company’s 180-strong fleet operating from the firm’s nine distribution depots, including Peterlee, Luton, Sheffield and Bradford. The multi-temperature Chereau fridge will work out of the company’s County Durham headquarters.

Jason Brooksbank, Eden Farm Hulleys group transport manager, said “We’re expanding and refreshing our fleet after winning some new business and the DAF trucks and Chereau trailer meet our requirements.

“We have operated DAF tractor units for a number of years and trialled a New Generation DAF XF 480 prior to placing our order.

“The fuel return statistics were favourable, which is fantastic as we work them hard on our trunking operations across the UK. They will clock up around 180,000 km per year. The DAF maintenance and back-up service from Asset Alliance Group is also excellent.”

Brooksbank said the size and comfort of the cab interior makes the DAFs popular with ithe company’s drivers. The vehicles also come with built-in satellite navigation system and a range of cameras, which Eden Farm Hulleys said helps mitigate ambiguous insurance claims and aid driver safety.

The new vehicles will be used to distribute frozen and chilled food products and ice cream to a wide range of customers, from small independent shops, through to large wholesalers and buying groups, as well as a number of high street retailers.

Eden Farm Hulleys is part of the Kitwave Group, an independent wholesale business with depots throughout the UK. The company has worked with Asset Alliance Group previously, sourcing a number of trailers five years ago.
