Logistics group Maxi Caledonian saw its profits almost double last year as it emerged from the pandemic and concluded historic projects. Turnover increased by 8% to £80.6m for the year ending 30 September 2021 and pre-tax profit was £4.2m (£2.1m), without it having to contend with enforced Covid-related closures. Profits increased at removals firm Pickfords Move Management last year, but the impact of Covid-19 knocked almost a fifth off its turnover.
A revival in activity within the construction sector helped ET Holdings more than treble profit before tax in the year to the end of March 2014, from £192,000 to just under £760,000.
Lockwood Haulage reported a 3.7% increase in turnover last year, which it attributed to investments in its fleet and its warehouse capacity.
