Soaring demand for new vehicles on a contract hire and leasing basis prompted Asset Alliance Group to order more than 1,400 tractor units, rigids, trailers and light CVs.
The commercial vehicle finance specialist said the latest vehicles, delivered throughout the year, will take its fleet to more than 5,000.
It added that the £100m investment will also help it achieve the goal of having the youngest contract hire and leasing fleet in the UK.

The vehicles come from manufacturers including DAF, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Scania, Chereau, Dennison, Krone and Montracon.

The demand for new assets also boosts its used truck and trailer business.
Brian Kempson, used truck and trailer sales director, explained: “As we deal with the entire lifecycle of vehicles, our used truck and trailer team has good visibility of supply which means we can have early conversations with operators looking to extend their fleets with used vehicles.”
