Parcel carrier Yodel is the new official delivery partner for the Celebrity Esports gaming tournament.

Yodel will undertake the shipping and delivery of the kit the VIPs need to take part in the event.

The tournament will pitch celebrity teams against each other across a collection of the video game titles.

Due to Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, the stars will all be filmed playing in their own homes, giving viewers an insight into their lives.

Mike Hancox, Yodel chief executive, said: “We’re excited to be working with Celebrity ESports as its official delivery partner. We’re committed to continuing to support our customers throughout the pandemic, and we know that gaming can be a great source of the social interaction that we’re all missing out on.

“Gaming is an opportunity to come together and talk with friends and family while having fun, so we’re looking forward to helping keep people connected through our partnership with Celebrity Esports.”

The gaming and filming equipment the celebrities receive will all use bespoke “plug and play” technology, making the production of the show Covid friendly and reducing the environmental impact of producing the series.

Leo Skagerlind, founder and chief executive of Celebrity Esports, said: “Ensuring the recording and gaming equipment the celebrities receive arrives on time and having been handled with the utmost care is paramount to the success of the show. Our partnership with Yodel means we can rest assured that this is carefully managed.”

Richard Farleigh, chairman of Celebrity Esports, added: “I’m so excited that Celebrity Esports can team up with a big name provider such as Yodel.

“From our point of view, it’s all fun and games until something doesn't turn up. Yodel are clearly a market leader and excellent at providing the logistics services that we will need.

“I’m looking forward to a long lasting relationship with them and thrilled to be able to utilise their experience and knowhow.”
