FORS is reducing its annual subscription fee for members from next month in a move aimed at helping hauliers during the pandemic.

The reduction, for new and existing members, is based on fleet size and means an operator with between six and 10 HGVs will see the fee cut by 4.8%; an operator running 11 to 25 HGVs will see it cut by 5.6% and if the fleet includes between 51 and 100 lorries then the cost will be reduced by 3% to £1,650.

For FORS members operating more than 100 HGVs, the annual subscription will be reduced by 4.4% to £2,150 from 1 March.

John Hix, FORS director, said: “We have worked hard to maintain our service levels during the health crisis and we have strived to deliver some financial respite that’s fair to all members based on their fleet size and regardless of whether they are new to the scheme or existing members.

“2020 was extremely tough for many in the transport sector and only now are we seeing genuine signs that the movement of goods by road could return to normal levels in the second half of 2021.”
