Mixed Freight (1)

Heathrow-based Mixed Freight Services has joined Pallet-Track, making it the second new member to join the network this year.

Mixed Freight Services, which employs almost 100 staff, follows in the footsteps of Caldicot-based Hicks Logistics in joining Pallet-Track this month.

The air freight specialist took on the TW postcode area on behalf of Wolverhampton-based Pallet-Track on January 4, 202, with Caldicot-based Hicks Logistics taking charge of Avonmouth postcodes on the same day.

This is the first time Mixed Freight Services, which was established more than 30 years ago, has been part of a pallet network.

General manager, Tony Cox said: “We had been looking at joining a pallet network at the same time that Pallet-Track was looking for a partner for the postcodes we were interested in.”

“We looked at some of the networks and then, by coincidence, one of Pallet-Track’s network development team walked through the door and asked if we were interested in joining a pallet network.

“I told him his timing was excellent and we had an initial discussion before I was invited up to Wolverhampton to see the hub, where I was impressed with what I saw and heard.

“Pallet-Track was also able to perfectly match our requirements and we are already recruiting new drivers, so we are really looking forward to 2021 as a new chapter for the business,” he added.

Nigel Parkes, founder and MD of Pallet-Track, said: “Recruiting the highly-experienced Mixed Freight Services to our network and the important TW postcode is a real bonus for Pallet-Track and serendipitous for both parties.

“As Mixed Freight Services is looking to grow, Pallet-Track is also expanding its network depth as well as its strategic offerings in 2021 – watch this space.

“This is a further boost to the network with Mixed Freight Services being the second business to join the Pallet-Track network this year.”
