HGV traffic to and from Ireland via Holyhead has slumped by around a third, according to port operator Stena Line. The CEO of the United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has warned that global political and economic uncertainty linked to societal shifts and changing consumer behaviour is creating “a perfect storm that is driving an unprecedented pace of change within the logistics sector”.
Only around one in 10 people believe HGV drivers’ behaviour on the roads has improved since the Coronavirus pandemic began, according to a poll carried out by the AA.
