As the latest Driver CPC deadline looms, the DVSA insisted this week that technical problems with its website will not delay drivers receiving their DQC cards. The FTA has reiterated its warning that with the Driver CPC deadline now reached, the road transport industry is facing not only a short-term driver shortage but a more serious underlying recruitment problem.
The seven United Road Transport Union (URTU) men arrested by police as part of a fraud investigation relating to the Driver CPC have had their bail extended until September. All were arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation in February as part of a police and Driving Standards Agency probe.
