Hermes UK has launched a degree apprentice programme that enables students to earn while they learn.

In addition, they are guaranteed a job with the parcels company when they have successfully completed their degree course.

The four-year programme is being run in association with Leeds Beckett University, and this year six students will participate in the scheme.

They will each take a job with Hermes and will be given time off for lectures and study. All tuition fees will be paid by Hermes and students will also receive a salary, as well as work experience.

Two of the students will be joining the IT department whilst studying for a degree in digital and technology solutions. The others, all studying for a chartered management degree, will take roles throughout the business at its contact centre, the Warrington hub and with the ParcelShops team.

Jill Maples, HR Director at Hermes UK, said: “This programme is designed to bring talented young people both into our business and the industry as a whole.”
