Fuel distributors and the Unite union are poised for a fourth day of negotiations over tanker drivers’ training, safety and employment terms. Hoyer says 2012, and the medium term future, will be a “challenging period” as the bulk liquid giant reported a 6.8% fall in pre-tax profit to £3.5m for the year ending 31 December 2011 (2010: £3.8m).
