Norbert Dentressangle will cease providing warehousing and distribution services to collapsed retail chain Comet from tomorrow (21 December). Last month the operator warned its five-year £100m contract with Comet, which it only signed earlier this year, was in the hands of the retail chain’s administrator Deloitte. Drivers at Eddie Stobart’s Doncaster DC have voted for strike action, in response to the operator’s announcement last week that it would be making them redundant. Unite says more than 150 drivers, from a total of 183, voted for strike action at the site that was previously part of Tesco’s distribution network.
