Kodak, the graphic communications division of Eastman Kodak, has transferred all UK warehouse operations to Miniclipper Logistics as part of a £2m, two-year rolling contract. The two companies have worked in partnership for the past two decades. All logistics functions and a number of employees at Kodak have been transferred to Miniclipper as part of the contract, with Kodak closing its purpose built Watford warehouse. Retailer Argos has said it managed to operate a normal service for customers despite a strike by warehouse staff at five of its distribution centres on Friday.
John Mitchell Haulage and Warehousing saw turnover rise £1.5m as it felt the benefits of consolidating its two sites at Grangemouth into one. For the year-ending 31 March 2012, the firm reported turnover of £12m, up from £10.5m in the previous year. Pre-tax profit fell from £284,598 to £187,783, owing in part to its purchase of five acres of land adjacent to its Earls Road Industrial Estate depot in Falkirk.
