The eighth FTA Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards programme are open for nominations, seeking out the industry’s role models and rising stars.

Recognised as the backbone of the economy and providing flow of goods on which all other commercial businesses depend, the transport and logistics industry has been transformed by technology and its complexity as an industry has led to a level playing field with a variety of career options and enticing rewards.

These awards aim to showcase the achievements of the growing female workforce, encouraging future talent to explore the opportunities and benefits offered by this enormously diverse sector, in which the UK is perceived as a global leader.

A launch reception for the FTA Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards, sponsored by DHL, will be held on 13 January at the House of Commons for supporters of the programme and business leaders of those transport and logistics companies committed to achieving greater gender diversity in their organisations.

Categories

The Awards are free to enter and nominations are open until 2 February 2015 with the industry’s role models and future stars sought in the following categories:

Rising Star of the Year Award sponsored by Wincanton

Awarded to a woman aged under 30 who is excelling in her career.

Driver of the Year Award

Awarded to a woman who is excelling in her role as a driver including HGV, van, motorcycle or passenger transport.

The Warehousing Award sponsored by DHL

Awarded to a woman who is excelling in her role within a warehousing environment.

Innovation & Sustainability Award sponsored by DHL Supply Chain

Awarded to a woman who is implementing an innovative operational solution (technologies and processes) that is changing the industry in a positive way.

Team Leader of the Year Award

Awarded to a woman who is leading a team to excel in a way that contributes greatly to the company's success.

Leader of the Year Award sponsored by Asda

Awarded to a woman operating in a senior role, contributing to the strategic direction of the business.

Industry Champion Award sponsored by TNT

Awarded to an individual, male or female, who is an active champion for the industry, playing a vital role in attracting and retaining women in transport and logistics.

The sector has worked tirelessly to encourage diversity through its commitment to training, promotion and job satisfaction.

The awards are important because through celebrating success and showcasing the variety of job opportunities, we will ensure future generations of talent drive the industry forward as a global leader.”
