Wincanton will be back in the black this financial year as the group’s extensive restructuring and disposals programme bears fruit. Sainsbury’s has received accreditation to the FTA’s Van Excellence scheme, the 25th van operator to do so since the scheme began in 2010. The retailer runs a fleet of 1,400 vans, and employs some 4,000 drivers, and it satisfactorily achieved the standards laid out in Van Excellence code – which are agreed by a governance group of leading van fleet operators.
