The introduction of peak-time charges as part of the Port of Felixstowe’s vehicle booking system (VBS) has been described as unacceptable by container hauliers. Roadways Container Logistics has returned to profit despite a fall in turnover and a warning that rates in the market remain depressed. For the year ended 31 December 2011, Roadways achieved a pre-tax profit of £319,000, compared with a pre-tax loss of £697,000 in the previous year.
