Norbert Dentressangle will cease providing warehousing and distribution services to collapsed retail chain Comet from tomorrow (21 December). Last month the operator warned its five-year £100m contract with Comet, which it only signed earlier this year, was in the hands of the retail chain’s administrator Deloitte. Wincanton has been awarded a five year contract expansion with Morrisons, handling the logistics for its convenience stores in the North.
Wincanton says it is “extremely disappointed” that Unite failed to persuade its tanker driver members to accept proposals put forward over terms and conditions after six days of talks at conciliation service Acas.
