Wincanton has won a two-year warehousing and distribution contract with baby and toddler food manufacturer Ella’s Kitchen. The contract will see Wincanton managing inbound deliveries from factories, picking, packing and distributing five million cases a year to supermarkets across the UK and its growing list of international customers. Retailer Argos has said it managed to operate a normal service for customers despite a strike by warehouse staff at five of its distribution centres on Friday.
Norbert Dentressangle (ND) has revealed a first-half consolidated revenue increase of 13.3% to €1.9bn (up from €1.7bn in the same period last year) despite struggling with volumes. Like-for-like growth remained flat, dipping by 0.2% compared with H1 2011, which ND attributes to a sharply deteriorating European economy during the second quarter.
