Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles MD Ian Jones has retired with immediate effect. In a statement the Executive Board of Mercedes-Benz UK says it wants to offer Jones “best wishes for the future”. Under Jones’s reign the Sprinter won the Motor Transport Award for Fleet Van of the Year for four consecutive years. East Anglia’s Mercedes-Benz dealer Orwell Truck & Van has spent £600,000 on a new VOSA-approved Authorised Test Facility (ATF). The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is about to enter the final stage of its investigation into Mercedes-Benz and five vehicle dealerships over suspected breaches of the Competition Act in the distribution of commercial vehicles.
