Birds Eye has extended its contract with Norbert Dentressangle to include storage and supply of packaging and ambient raw materials at its Lowestoft site.
The new part of the contract will also cover on-site shunting across Birds Eye’s manufacturing complex in Lowestoft and temperature-controlled and ambient storage for up to 3,500 pallets of packaging and ingredients such as seasoning and coating.
ND currently manages the storage and supply of frozen ingredients into the site, which comprises of four factories that produce around 120,000 tonnes of frozen chicken, fish and vegetables annually.
Craig Hamilton, general manager for Birds Eye’s Lowestoft operations said: “We believe that we have a long term opportunity to develop further and sustain a strategic relationship with Norbert Dentressangle. Norbert Dentressangle have proven both agile and adept at delivering innovative solutions.”
ND delivers 30 loads into Birds Eye’s Lowestoft factories per day and also manages its pea processing plant in Hull, which processes more than 50,000 tonnes of peas during the harvest between June and August.
