Elanders

Elanders UK has announced the appointment of David Pritchard as supply chain team leader at its subsidiary Bergen Logistics.

The company is also planning to recruit 60 staff at Bergen this year, as part of plans to expand into the UK fashion and lifestyle fulfillment market.

Pritchard's appointment follows the launch of Bergen Logistics by Erlanders UK in January this year, which saw it take on a £4.6m, 48,000 sq ft facility in North Tyneside.

Bergen Logistics is looking to expand its presence not only across the UK, but also in the EU and USA. It provides fulfilment services to the fashion and lifestyle sectors, including clothing, footwear, handbags, accessories and cosmetics, home goods, medical devices and supplements.

Elanders UK is part of Erlanders Group, a Swedish company which offers global integrated supply chain solutions and has over 90 operations across four continents.

Before taking up his new role, Pritchard was factory shift manager with Elanders UK, which has been based in North Tyneside for 20 years. He will lead the team at the Bergen Logistics site and oversee the company’s supply chain strategy.

“I am looking forward to putting my stamp on this role and to building our team. We anticipate that by the end of 2023, 60 jobs will be created and we are actively recruiting for a variety of positions.”

Kevin Rogers, managing director for Elanders in the UK, which also has operational sites in Scotland, Birmingham and Nottingham, said: “We have very ambitious growth plans and North Tyneside is home to a highly skilled and dedicated workforce, of which David is an incredible example.”
