Motus Group UK chief executive Rob Truscott has announced his retirement after eight years in the role and will be replaced by Matt Lawrenson, currently MD of Motus Commercials.
Truscott, who has been with the franchised dealer group for 21 years, said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Motus and my time in the UK particularly.
“My wife and I are having a house built on our favourite part of the coast in South Africa and, in future, will split our time between there and the UK.
“More importantly, my retirement now creates the opportunity for other colleagues to progress their careers.
“A key measure of my own career has been to develop a line of talented successors capable of leading and continuing to build the business going forward,” he added.

Lawrenson is a chartered accountant with 20 years’ experience at Motus and the company said he had grown Motus Commercials into the largest DAF dealer group in Europe.
He recently chaired the DAF international dealer council, of which he remains a member.
Lawrenson will be replaced as MD by Daniel Fitzjohn, who joined Motus Group UK in 2017 after a career in the Middle East.
He was recently appointed commercial director at Motus Commercials, in addition to being regional director for the South West. Fitzjohn is also a member of the DAF UK dealer council.
Truscott retires at the end of July.
