ACS&T has secured a three-year contract extension with foodservice brand Kara to manage outbound storage and distribution.
The temperature-controlled specialist will collect frozen burger buns, breads and teacakes directly from Kara’s Manchester manufacturing site for palletised storage at ACS&T’s Wolverhampton hub.
Up to 300 pallets per week will then be picked and dispatched to foodservice wholesaler Bidvest 3663.
ACS&T and Kara – which belongs to the Fletchers Group of Bakeries – have already worked together for several years.
Kevin Shaw, supply chain manager at Kara, said: “We have formed an excellent relationship with ACS&T and regard them as a valued partner. They align to our supply chain philosophy of cost, quality and innovation and have consistently exceeded our expectations in terms of service, delivery and quality.”
Mike Rice, business development director at ACS&T, added: “We have a strong understanding of Kara’s network requirements and we use our long experience in the foodservice sector to be as responsive as possible.”
ACS&T’s customers include McCain, Young’s Seafood and Menorquina, and recently signed deals with speciality producers Pinnacle Foods and TICCO Food.
