Haulage consortium Jigsaw has revealed further details about its multi-million pound contract with Kimberly-Clark, which it won and began operating last year.
Jigsaw has been making full and part-load collections from Kimberly-Clark’s manufacturing plants in Northfleet, Kent and Chorley, Lancashire. It also provides trunking between the two sites to ensure stock levels are maintained.
Products from brands such as Huggies and Andrex are then delivered to customers across the UK.
In addition, Jigsaw provides transport from the Northfleet paper mill to the nearby DC and packing operation.
The majority of the transport is handled by CM Downton and S & R Smith & Son, with support from other Jigsaw partner members.
Jigsaw MD Andy Humpherson said: “The operation sits very well with our existing FMCG client base, which also have demanding requirements for national support but also takes our business into another part of the consumer goods sector.”
Kimberly-Clark revealed that it awarded the contract after seeing an opportunity to rationalise its transport operations following the closure of two of its manufacturing plants.
