DPDGroup is to roll out its Precise service, which allows customers to pick an hour-long delivery slot, to more customers later this year.
Launched last year with client Asos, the service is currently only used by seven of the parcel carrier's "major" clients.
Speaking at The Delivery Conference in London today (31 January) chief executive Dwain McDonald told delegates: "It’s a nationwide service empowering around seven of our major clients, and we’re going to have a bigger roll out during Q2 to Q3."
McDonald added that next month, La Poste-owned DPD would be introducing an extension to the service.
Precise Deluxe, said McDonald, would allow its retail customer to build Precise directly into their websites, so end customers will be able to pick their hour delivery slot during checkout.
It will also allow the option of next day delivery to be chosen for orders made up until midnight.
"It's the ultimate in customer experience," he added.
Hermes chief executive Carole Woodhead also told the conference that the courier will be rolling out selectable time slots for its customers later this year.
She added that the business was on track to open its new Rugby hub this summer.
