CM Downton has secured a new contract with the plastics division of DS Smith following a tender process.
Under the £500,000-a year deal, Downton will deliver its Correx brand of plastic products across the UK from DS Smith’s manufacturing plant in Gloucester. DS Smith, which separately has its own fleet of vehicles for other areas of the business, does not run any vehicles from the site.
Consignments will range from one or two pallets up to full loads of plastic products, which are used for signage, packaging and merchandising.
Downton also holds a contract with DS Smith’s paper and recycling business, which involves the collection of recyclable material from supermarket RDCs to DS Smith’s Kemsley paper mill in Sittingbourne, Kent.
