Clipper Logistics has won a five-year extension to its e-fulfilment contract with Tesco and will refit its Daventry DC.
The new part of the contract will see Clipper make Tesco’s clothing ‘retail ready’ for deliveries to customers. Clipper has held a contract to provide e-fulfilment for the supermarket’s clothing range since 2009.
The operator expects the new deal will create up to 200 jobs at its 400,000ft² DC in Daventry, where the contract will be operated from. It will begin in August 2014, when Tesco’s stock will arrive at the DC after a significant refit.
Clipper executive chairman Steve Parkin said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this contract extension so soon after our successful listing on the London Stock Exchange. This contract extension is an excellent example of Clipper’s commitment to the continued growth of the business.”
