Clipper Logistics has secured a new eight-year contract with Halfords, after it started working with the retailer last year.

The operator started handling inbound bulk handling and storage for Halfords last year, and the new deal will extend this relationship to include more warehousing and ancillary services.

Clipper will work on the contract out of its Daventry DC, which it has recently developed to be a multi-user facility. The site now offers more than 325,000ft² of storage space. Halfords will be the anchor operator at the Daventry site.

Steve Parkin, executive chairman at Clipper, said: "Clipper began its relationship with Halfords last year. I am delighted that we have been able to demonstrate our ability to act proactively as a team and to develop solutions which will make a difference to the Halfords business."

Halfords infrastructure director Richard Street said the partnership had allowed the retailer to consolidate all of its external storage and enhance its pre-retail services.

Clipper recently appointed Emma Dempsey as chief operating officer.
