Wincanton fuel tanker

Wincanton has secured a three-year contract renewal from Total, covering the management of its refinery maintenance warehouse.

The operator, which won the initial contract in 2007, will continue to manage the warehouse at the Lindsey Oil Refinery in South Killingholme, North Lincolnshire on the fuel supplier’s behalf. It also plans to take on two apprentices at the site to work on the contract.

Among other responsibilities, the deal covers receiving inbound deliveries, making on-site chemical and gas deliveries and stock control. The warehouse contains around 31,000 units, used for the refinery’s repair and maintenance, and Wincanton will ensure that all parts are available when needed.

Wincanton claimed the contract was renewed due to its good health and safety record and being able to work in close partnership with customers to boost efficiency and productivity.

Chris Kingshott, MD for manufacturing at Wincanton, said: “Like us, Total is a business synonymous with extremely high levels of health and safety. What’s more, its success worldwide is built upon a culture of continuous improvement and astute cost management, goals very much aligned with our own and a major factor in our two businesses’ long and successful partnership.”

The contract follows wins with Adidas, General Dynamics UK and Howdens Joinery.
