Croydon-based PF Whitehead Transport Services said volumes had recovered after it took a hit during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020.
MD Peter Whitehead said the haulage contractor was now looking forward to the future after its latest financial results, for the year ending 31 July 2020, showed that turnover fell more than 12% to £7.2m during the period.
Pre-tax profits reduced by 19% to £578,000.

In the company’s financial report, PF Whitehead said it had received funding from the government under the job retention scheme and that it would “continue to assess the potential impacts, mitigating actions and financial consequences of the pandemic on the company”.
But Whitehead told motortransport.co.uk: “Like all businesses in 2020, we were impacted by the pandemic and the widespread disruption it caused.
“However, we’re pleased to say that volumes swiftly recovered and we’re looking forward to a very positive 2021 and beyond.”
