Kuehne + Nagel Drinks Logistics (KNDL) has relocated its Newark depot in Nottinghamshire to a site in nearby Carlton-on-Trent.

The drinks distribution division is moving into a 70,000ft² site which adjoins the A1 north of Newark.

Tim Gilbertson, director at property consultant FHP, said KNDL  “needed to relocate from its Newark base but remains within close proximity of the A1, a key road link for their supply chain business whilst remaining in close proximity of their former unit to ensure staff retention.”

He added: “This letting of just over 70,000ft² is one of the largest in the East Midlands element of the A1 Corridor in recent times.”

Gilbertson added that FHP is looking for potential clients looking to sell or let warehouse or production space in the area. “Stock levels throughout the region, not only on the A1 but on the M1 Corridor and indeed all major towns and cities between, remain painfully thin".

A recent rash of deals has seen those levels reduce still further, adding that he had “any number” of potential tenants and purchasers seeking space in the East Midlands of 20,000ft² and over.
