Nissin (UK) has taken delivery of more than 100 vehicles from Dawsonrentals after a contract win with Honda’s Swindon assembly plant.
The fleet of 43 6x2 Mercedes-Benz Actros tractors and 71 Lawrence David trailers will work on the 24/7 Honda operation, which involves collection of components from Wales, the Midlands and the South of England, and the return of packaging and pallets to the same suppliers.
Dawsonrentals also provided Nissin (UK) with two 4x2 tractor units for work with the Honda race team and customers with less accessible sites.
Nigel Mackenzie, senior manager at Nissin (UK)’s Swindon depot, organised the vehicles with Dawsonrentals’ Swindon branch.
“We needed quality trucks and trailers and Dawsonrentals has those. We also needed a lot of support with the preliminary planning at the early project stage,” he said.
