Transport minister Claire Perry will give the opening speech and launch DHL’s gas-powered truck at MT’s Quiet Cities summit on 25 November.

The two-day conference, taking place at Twickenham Stadium, aims to dispel the perceived barriers preventing out-of-hours deliveries from taking place.

“The benefits of off-peak deliveries are a win-win for all: cleaner air, reduced congestion, safer roads, lower fuel consumption and improved stock availability,” said Laura Hailstone, Quiet Cities manager.

Speakers include Sainsbury’s logistics director Richard Fleming; and environmental health officers from Bournemouth and Croydon councils.
