UK Warehousing Association (UKWA) chief executive Roger Williams is to hand over the reins later this month to his successor, Peter Ward (pictured), following 15 years at the organisation.
The government’s apprenticeship levy will come into force in April 2017. This means in just four months, companies with a payroll of £3m or more will be paying 0.5% of that cost into a pot, which UK businesses will be able to draw from for staff training.
The UKWA has said the decision to leave the EU will have “serious global implications” that will bring “new challenges” to the British transport and warehousing industries.
