FTA-president-Ian-Veitch

Yusen Logistics UK MD Ian Veitch has taken over the presidency of the Freight Transport Association (FTA).

 

Veitch, who has been a member of the FTA board since 2008, spent 15 years at British Road Services (which ultimately became Exel Logistics) and two years at Christian Salvesen before joining NYK in 1994. He became MD of Yusen Logistics UK after the merger of sister companiesYusen Air & Sea and NYK Logistics in 2011.

Outgoing FTA president Stewart Oades said Veitch had “all the necessary skills to ensure FTA continues its excellent work on behalf of our membership”.

Veitch said he was “looking forward” to his new role and to “pursuing the best interests of our members and promoting our industry as a vital part of our society and our economy”.
