Lloyd Fraser Group has placed a 55-truck order with rental firm Ryder following a major 3PL contract win with an undisclosed fashion retailer. The order comprises 45 rigids – 16 Daf LF 7.5-tonners and 29 CF 18-tonne box trucks – which will be used on multi-drop delivery work, as well as 10 Renault Premium 44-tonne tractor units, which will be used on overnight trunking runs to the company’s five hubs. Norbert Dentressangle and the UK arm of customer Mitsubishi Electric Europe have jointly purchased a Daf LF Hybrid. The 12-tonne diesel/electric hybrid has joined the operator’s dedicated distribution fleet, which moves large industrial air conditioning units, Ecodan heating systems, spare parts and instruction manuals, for Mitsubishi Electric Europe. Norbert Dentressangle has handled UK distribution for the manufacturer since 2008, and typically handles 300 orders per day with a mix of vehicles from 7.5-tonne to 18-tonne delivering the palletised goods.
