Innovate UK and the Department for Transport are hosting a progress summit for the zero emission HGV and infrastructure demonstrator programme. Due to take place in London, 6 March, the event will provide a detailed overview of progress in each of the four consortiums so far including eFreight 2030, HyHAUL, Project Freightway and ZenFreight.
As well as project updates, the locations of more than 70 infrastructure sites will be shared for the first time. The event will also touch on the latest standards being developed as part of the programme. Throughout the day, there will be panel discussions, Q&A sessions and operators from the consortiums sharing their experiences.
The summit is an opportunity for hauliers, infrastructure providers, OEMs, distribution network operators (DNOs), technology providers, financial institutions and public sector stakeholders to learn more about the programme. There will also be an opportunity to network and hear valuable insights that could inform your decarbonisation journey or business interests in this transition.
During the morning session, attendees will hear from Michael Boxwell, group chief executive officer at Voltempo with an eFreight 2030 update. Kyle Arnold, managing director of HyHAUL will share the consortium’s latest news, Sam Clarke, commercial lead at Gridserve will give an update on Project Freightway and Gavin Lancaster, operations director at Dynamon will speak on ZenFreight progress.
The afternoon begins with operator stories from Ben Garner, head of logistics development and standard at Tarmac. This will be followed by a focus on infrastructure developments with Kasia Chodurek, business development director at Aegis Energy discussing a national network of clean, multi-energy hubs for commercial vehicles. Andy Gwilliam, decarbonisation delivery programme manager at First Bus UK will then talk about shared bus infrastructure as a solution for charging eHGVs.
Standards, best practice and investment to further the roll out of zero emission HGVs will be discussed by Matteo Novati, consulting manager BSI and Alan Nettleton, concept demonstration team lead, Connected Places Catapult.
