Jonathan Smith is to leave Yodel at the end of the year after leading the company through the integration of HDNL and the domestic B2B and B2C parts of DHL Express (UK), Motortransport.co.uk can reveal.
A successor to Smith will be sought, but in the interim he will work alongside executive chairman Dick Stead.
A spokesman for Yodel said: “Yodel has been transformed over the last 18 months and is now in a sound position with strength across senior management. Dick Stead has recently taken up the role as executive chairman and will lead the business.
“Jonathan Smith has decided to move on but will stay through peak, working alongside Dick. The search for a new chief executive officer (CEO), as well as a chief commercial officer (CCO), has started.”
According to a document seen by MT the executive team at Yodel has been reorganised and a CCO role created. This will be undertaken on an interim basis by Peter Fisher.
Chief operating officer Marija Simovic and chief financial officer Mark Strickland remain in their respective roles.
Adam Smith, commercial director at Yodel, is to leave at the end of October while chief information officer Greg Smith will leave the business at the same time.
