Wincanton has extended its contract with omnichannel home furnishings retailer Loaf.

The additional three-year deal builds on six years of collaboration between the companies, which has seen Wincanton support Loaf’s omnichannel growth across the UK while managing customer services for its e-commerce channels.

Wincanton will fulfil orders across the UK and make around 50,000 deliveries each year. It will continue to provide supply chain services to Loaf including warehousing, order fulfilment and carrier management, as well as premium home delivery. This involves handling key products for the brand including sofas, armchairs, mattresses, and tables, with technicians who assemble and position the delivery in the customer’s home.

Loaf will benefit from Wincanton’s investment in a dedicated state-of-the-art 120,000sq ft e-commerce distribution centre in Harlow, Essex.

The service is carbon-neutral and enabled through a combination of enhanced vehicle technology, electrification and carbon offsetting.

Wincanton MD for e-fulfilment, Carl Moore said: “Extending our two-person premium home delivery contract with Loaf is a major milestone in our collaboration. It is testament to the strength of our services and how we support our customers as they grow and make investments in our facilities, enabling our customers to focus on their product. We look forward to continuing to help facilitate Loaf’s growth in the years to come.”

Added Rob Pierce, director of operations at Loaf: "Our goal is to deliver an exceptional customer experience and our delivery service is a crucial part of this. Wincanton is the best partner for the job and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them."
