Yodel sister company Yodel XL, which provides a two-man delivery service, has rebranded as Arrow XL to coincide with the opening of a new hub.

Chief executive Gary Monk said the firm decided to rebrand after relocating some of its operations from Bolton to Wigan, where it recently moved to increase its distribution and warehouse capabilities.

The new Wigan DC comprises of a 200,000 ft² delivery hub and 500,000 ft² warehouse. It opened this year after the firm won a number of new contracts, which Monk did not reveal the nature of.

The firm will run 75 7.5-tonne vehicles out of the new site, which are part of its 220-strong fleet across four hubs in Scotland, Worcester, North London and Wigan. It also plans to unveil its new livery across its nationwide fleet.

Monk told Motortransport.co.uk: “We are a different business [from Yodel] and we do a very different thing to a parcel network. We are a growing business and we are currently increasing the number of clients we trade with.”

The new site will also allow Arrow XL to provide a full logistics service for its customers, including storage, pick and pack and delivery.

Monk added: “Our new brand identity really sums up what we’re about, which is working hard to provide a fantastic service and really going that extra mile for our customers.”
