Tiger Trailers has pounced into action and manufactured 40 box vans within three months for a Primark contract won by 3PL Wincanton.
The five-year deal will see Wincanton make more than 50,000 deliveries to 191 Primark stores across the UK each year.
The logistics giant won the contract after Primark’s previous 3PL partnership ended, leaving it needing to specify, procure and commission a brand new fleet of tractors and trailers on the road in a very short space of time to maintain the efficiency of its supply chain.
Tiger Trailers partnered with Wincanton and Primark to deliver its vehicle needs within a matter of weeks, in spite of the global backdrop of long lead times and supply chain challenges.
The new straight-frame box vans are composed of twin and tri-axle versions and are fitted with tail-lifts incorporating hinged rear and side ramps, LED lights and Michelin X Line Energy tyres.
Primark has now put in an order for over 40 additional trailers, which will be manufactured during Q4 2022 and Q1 2023.
Steve Pollock, business development director at Tiger (pictured, centre), said: “We’re proud of the 40 initial box vans Tiger has manufactured and we’re excited about continuing to support Primark for many years to come, starting with the next batches of trailers ordered for later this year and into 2023.”
