Worcestershire haulage firm White Logistics & Storage has commenced building a 56,000sq ft warehouse to consolidate its position as one of the area’s leading distributors.

Construction work on the company’s site at Pinvin near Pershore began in March and is expected to be fully completed and online in September, providing space for an extra 8,000 pallets.

Mick Pegg, White Logistics commercial manager, said it had received “a high volume of interest” from businesses requiring high quality storage and distribution after it received BRCGS AA accreditation last year.

The grade means it can store customers’ products to global standards, ensuring they are safe and meet legal requirements.

“This led to the decision to go ahead and build the third warehouse on site to take capacity from 12,000 pallet spaces to 20,000, as well as a bulk area where six-metre stillages are stored and distributed across the UK on our 95-strong fleet of vehicles,” Pegg added.

The warehouse is expected to be fully completed by September 20205.

Last year, the haulier began preparations for trialling hydrogen fuelled trucks under Hydrogen Vehicle Systems’ Transition to Zero programme.

It said that if the trial – which is due to commence this year - was a success White Logistics would look at converting part of its fleet to zero-emission HGVs.
