Royal Mail has made an improved pay offer to its management staff, and is to hold two days of meetings with Unite in a bid to end the ongoing pay dispute.
Around 4,800 managers began a work-to-rule on 4 May after Royal Mail refused to ramp up a proposed pay increase of 1.3%. This was increased to an overtime ban with the union holding a mandate from members to escalate action to a full strike.
However, in a statement released last week, Royal Mail said it had “made an improved pay offer and committed to further talks going forward”.
Talks are scheduled with Unite for 6 and 7 June, with union members maintaining their work-to-rule and overtime ban.
